The Kite Runner, Chapter 1

We meet Amir, the "I" person of the book in December 2001. He now lives in San Francisco but after a phonecall from his father's friend Rahim Khan he recalls Hassan, the harelipped kite runner saying "For you, a thousand times over." and that he, Amir, became the person he is today in the winter of 1975.
